The MDF Manufacturing Process — Stage by Stage
From logs to finished panel, MDF production runs through five stages. Fiber refining is the stage that sets board quality and energy cost — and it is where Parason segments go to work.
Wood Preparation
Logs are debarked, reduced to chips, and screened to a uniform size before refining.

Chips are washed free of grit, then steamed under pressure to soften the lignin.

Fiber Refining

Why stage 03 decides your economics: refining typically accounts for the largest single share of an MDF line's electricity bill. Segment bar geometry, groove depth, and alloy hardness control how much energy is spent per cubic metre of board and how long a set runs before replacement.
